We
should live everyday like it is our birthday; to
reflect upon our present blessings, of which
every man has many, not on our past misfortunes,
of which all men have some.
I am always
grateful for the gift of life and I am
determined to give myself the gift of living
well.
Birthday is a reminder to celebrate and update
our life for the better. There are two great
days in our life: the day we are born and the
day we discover the reason why. So let us count
not only our years, but make our years count and
then cherish all our happy moments; they make a
fine cushion for old age.
A birthday is just another day. Let us never
know what old age is, not count the years but
know the happiness time brings. We are as old as
we think we are. We have to count our blessings
and be happy.
I have learned that age is a case of mind over
matter. If we do not mind, it does not matter;
that the more we praise and celebrate our life,
the more there is in life to celebrate. When we
wake up every day, it is like a new birthday;
it's a new chance to be great again, make great
decisions and get better.
I enjoy birthday celebration as much as anyone
else does, but I always remember to start my day
thanking my mother (may she rest in peace)
because she did most of the work the day I came
into the world, not to mention all the
sacrifices and unconditional love she had done
throughout my life that have contributed so much
to who I am today. I am very grateful.
Yes, birthdays are good, the more we
have; the longer we live.
