One of the biggest problems that humanity faces is an ego sensitivity to finding out whether one is right or wrong and identifying what one's strengths and weaknesses.

Your ego can become an obstacle to your work. If you start believing in your greatness, it is the death of your creativity.-Marina Abramovic

Instead of looking outside of ourselves and counting potential enemies, it is to our advantage to turn our glance inward, and take the measure of our greatest challenge: the self, the ego, in our own eyes and as others see us.

Sometimes it is very hard to say, what is good or bad. So often what seems so good turns out to make a miserable experience; what seems bad turns into a greatest teacher, and a great opportunity we have been searching for.

Doors open to better ways of being or an opportunity that never would have come any other way. For instance, bad stomach cramps and a morning in the bathroom after an anniversary dinner the night before, gone bad, did, in fact, keep one business man from making it into work exactly where the first plane hit on 9/11. For him what’s bad certainly was good.

A "bad" experience can force one to let go of illusions, falsehoods and wrong concepts that will not serve one’s life experience. It can cause one to become more real, more humble, more compassionate and make us understand clearly.

A bad experience, when viewed from the ego which is merely the mind’s false sense of the self, can keep one frozen in time, bitter, angry and consumed with changing the unchangeable past.

Avoid having your ego so close to your position that when your position falls, your ego goes with it.-Colin Powell

Our ego is our unconscious and running mind that views itself as unique and separate from everything and everyone else. It makes us view everyone and everything as a potential threat to us and we can only preserve our ego with control, power, greed and attack.

Ego runs and ruins families and organizations. All conflicts are battle of egos, and the need to be right. When we give up the need to be right and focus to our goal, we will arrive at a state few attain to.

When two or more egos come together, drama of some kind or another ensues. But even if we live totally alone, we still create our own drama.

When we feel sorry for ourselves, that’s drama. When we feel guilty or anxious, that’s drama. When we let the past or future obscure the present, we are creating the stuff of which drama is made. Whenever we are not honoring the present moment by allowing it to be, we are creating drama.

Most people are in love with their particular life drama. Their story is their particular life drama. When we live with complete acceptance of what is, that is the end of all drama in our lives. The ultimate aim of managing our ego is not to see something, but to be something.

I believe that we are at a very low level of consciousness, and we do not know how to treat each other as human beings. We are caught up in our own lives, our own needs, our own ego gratification. I feel a strong sense of responsibility in delivering that message.-Madonna Ciccone
