A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat othetrs. The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach our full potential, these are the keys that unlock the door to personal excellence.

Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.-Jim Ryun

Desire and the force between them are responsible for all our actions; desire causes our voluntary acts, forces our involuntary. It is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of our goal and a commitment to excellence that enables us to attain the success we seek.

Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, nor a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything. Desire makes life happen; makes it matter and makes everything worth it.

Our destiny changes with our thought; we shall become what we wish to become, do what we wish to do, when our habitual thought corresponds with our desire. Dreams can become a reality when we possess a vision that is characterized by the willingness to work hard, a desire for excellence, and a belief in our right and our responsibility to be equal members of society.

Without inspiration the best powers of the mind remain dormant. There is a fuel in us which needs to be ignited with sparks.-Johann Gottfried Von Herder

One of the most difficult things everyone has to learn is that, for our entire life we must keep  fighting and adjusting, if we hope to survive. No matter who we are or what our position is, we must keep fighting for whatever it is our desire to achieve. There is one quality which we must possess to win, and that is definiteness of purpose, the knowledge of what we want, and a burning desire to possess it.

I have learned that the size of our success is measured by the strength of our desire; the size of our dream; and how we handle disappointment along the way. There are moments when we feel that the desire to pursue what we crave is fading, and the only way to bring it back is to get away from it, to put ourselves in a state of frustration so we feel the need again. Practice means to perform, over and over again in the face of all obstacles, some act of vision, of faith, of desire. Practice is a means of inviting the perfection desired.

I have also learned that there are two tragedies in life: one is to lose our heart's desire; the other is to gain it. To burn with desire and keep quiet about it is the greatest punishment we can bring on ourselves. Some of us go too far greater lengths to avoid what we fear than to obtain what we desire. We don’t spoil what we have by desiring what we have not; let us remember that what we now have was once among the things we only hoped for. Mystery creates wonder and wonder is the basis of man's desire to understand.

Excellence can be obtained if you care more than others think is wise, risk more than others think is safe, dream more than others think is practical, expect more than others think is possible.-Unknown
