Things happen
in our lives that we cannot stop, but that's no reason to shut out the
world. There is a purpose for the good and for the bad. At times, we maybe
in situations where our lives come to halt but with will power we can change
the course of life. Life is a series of choices.
We are never without the solutions to our problems. It’s just that sometimes
we may have to wait a little. Learn how to remain peaceful and patient. ~unknown |
Courage is nothing less
than the power to overcome danger, misfortune, fear, injustice, while
continuing to affirm inwardly that life with all its sorrows is good; that
everything is meaningful even if in a sense beyond our understanding; and
that there is always tomorrow to accomplish what is worthwhile and be happy.
Many of us
are willing to put ourselves through anything. Temporary pain or discomfort
means nothing to us as long as we can see that the experience will take us
to a new level. We are interested in the unknown, and the only path to the
unknown is through breaking barriers, an often painful process.
In life we
find that one of the most desirable qualities we can find in a person is
flexibility. The ability to change with changing times, to face
adversity with the same attitude one would have in facing victory. When we
are no longer able to change a situation, we could challenge to change
ourselves. Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or
a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its
place. If we quit, however, it lasts forever.
Let us learn
how the oyster develops a pearl. The inside of an oyster's shell is
covered with a smooth shiny coating called mother-of-pearl. When an
irritant, such as a grain of sand, gets caught inside the oyster's shell it
secretes layers of mother-of-pearl to protect its body by coating the
irritant. The coated grain of sand becomes a pearl.
Man can force
the oyster to produce a pearl by inserting an irritant into the shell. It
takes the oyster two to three years to produce a good size pearl. Cultured
pearls are usually not perfect, but the Japanese have discovered that if you
surgically insert an irritant directly into the body of the oyster, this will
produce a perfect pearl.
Nearly
all pearls sold today are cultured pearls. Cultured pearls are product of
pearl farmers helping nature to produce them by simulating the process. Cultured pearls can be
developed from saltwater or
freshwater.
When life
hands us a lemon, we can make a lemonade as the saying goes. An obstacle is
often a stepping stone.
The brick
walls are not there to keep us out; they are there to give us a
chance to show how badly we want something.
Don’t let the
pain of one incident destroy the joy of all the rest. Don’t judge life by
one difficult crisis. Persevere through the difficult patches and better
times are sure to come, some time or later.
We can
give up. It’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together,
when everything seems like falling apart; that’s true strength! Pain
nourishes courage. We can’t be brave if we only had wonderful things happen
to us.
By Tim Pedrosa
Pain and
heartache are things that we feel we can do without in our
lives; but remember that without the rainy days, we would not
really appreciate the sunny days. Appreciate difficult times as
well as the good times. Don’t dwell in feeling down but
appreciate it as a part of life’s struggles, without which the
victorious moments
would not be as sweet.–Unknown |
