Sometimes we are
baffled why a gadget is not working only to find out later
that the battery is dead or it is not plugged to the electrical outlet.
If we look
foolish, just imagine what the angels see when we try to live as an
"island"; that is, when we think we could exist on our own strength alone. The
angels must be shocked by our efforts to make life work without
spiritual guidance. We often forget that the infinite Divine Spirit lives within us
and guides us through life.
When we rely solely
on our own strength, when we are anxious with building our name and
collecting wealth, we miss the power that comes from a healthy relationship
with Christ. In our quest for self-recognition, self-importance, control
and acquisition of material things, we break that spiritual connection,
get out of track and that's when the devil comes in.
As human, we are weak
and fragile in life’s struggle. But God has many ways of manifesting
His forgiveness and kindness. He has countless ways of getting us closer to Him
and making us worthy of His love and affection. He is the source as
mentioned in Acts 1:8, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come
upon you.”
Many of us maintain
and recharge our spiritual energy by sharing our God-given gifts. These activities mend the loose cord and
keep the divine energy flowing upon us. As we help others, we
keep that link not only with our friends and family members but also with our heavenly Father.
We sustain our spirituality through prayer and reflecting on His Word. Through prayers, we
renew our strength and we gain more faith,
hope, and confidence. When we
are connected: we live each day with modesty and gladness in our hearts when we
serve Him cheerfully; we never forget that the greatest among us is the
one who serves with joy and humility; and the best among us is the one who
uses his/her gifts for the common good not for his/her own.
As the
switch is the key to our energy needs, let us always think of our Divine
connection. Without it, we are nothing. The choice is ours!
