Everyone appreciates a warm greeting. Whether you are a weekday road warrior or are taking your family on annual vacation, hospitality is always a welcome travel companion. That’s the principle behind the restaurant and hotel management. It has been and continuous to be their responsibility to fill the earth with the light ad warmth of hospitability.

Hospitality builds bridges between people and even nations and in that consideration, civility and respect should be given unconditionally. It is the powerful universal language easily understood by people in every corner of the globe.

Being hospitable not only feels good – studies show it can be good for you too. For example, older people who volunteer appear to lower their risk of heart disease, diabetes and other cardiovascular diseases. Other benefits include improved memory and reduced heartburn, headaches, colds and insomnia. One study concluded that “helper’s high” reduced stress and released endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers, much as exercise does (with less sweat).

And perhaps the best part about being hospitable is that it doesn’t require any special equipment, new clothes or even much time. As Mark Twain put it, “The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up.” Why not give it a try?

Happiness grows at our own firesides, and is not to be picked in strangers' gardens. Happiness is not achieved by the conscious pursuit of happiness; it is generally the by-product of other activities.
