As Christians, we know that God loves us and we love Him in return. Why then do we commit sin?  Our answer is: “Because we are only human and we are not perfect.”

God always has something for you. A key for every problem, a light for every shadow, a relief for every sorrow and a plan for every tomorrow.

In times of peace, we stray from Him the furthest and only in times of trouble we do remember Him and we pray earnestly. In our life, when tragedy strikes, with a heavy heart we ask: “Why me Lord?”  We understand that in times of distress we do strengthen our faith in God that when we cry, He offers His shoulder to cry on.  It is then that we see that we always enjoy the beauty of a flower without recognizing that it is its thorn that shows us the beauty of God’s comfort.

It's funny because we ask God to change our situation, not knowing He put us in the situation to change us.

In spite of our sins, our human weaknesses, God continues to forgive and love us because we are His creation, His children and He will never abandon us.

Let us take the case of an eagle. Do you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks? The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the wind to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it. The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

When the storms of life come upon us (and all of us will experience them), we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow God’s power to lift us above them. God enables us to ride the winds of the storms that bring sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm. Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down. It is how we handle those burdens.

The Bible says:  “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.”  This reminds us that God loves us and His love will help us overcome any obstacles that come our way. The secret of a happy life is giving God the first part of your day, the priority in every decision and the first place in your heart.
