There are some things in life that we are not meant to be. We should not waste our time and tears trying to be them. Let us look beyond and reach out for the things we are meant to be, and we will reach our destiny.

Successful people look at life through the wind-shield, not the rear-view mirror. They explore the opportunities around them and avoid having a fixed notion of a path, but rather have some idea of things that most appeal and are available to them.

Victories in life come through our ability to work around and over the obstacles that cross our path. We grow stronger as we climb our own mountains. -Marvin Ashton

If we search near and far for our dreams, they may drop right in front of us without fully realizing...then they disappear and are lost forever. If we do not recognize and embrace them, we lose the opportunities. Let us seek out and enjoy our dream and make a reality.

A black dot story could remind us to be aware of the blessings not the failures, disappointments nor misfortunes that we encounter.

A small town chamber of commerce invited a speaker to address its annual dinner. The community’s economy was bad, people were discouraged, and they wanted this motivational speaker to give them a boost.

During her presentation, the speaker took a large piece of white paper and made a small black dot at the middle with a marking pen. Then she held the paper up before the group and ask them what they saw.

One person quickly replied, “I see a black dot.”

“Okay, what else do you see?”

Others joined in agreement: “A black dot.”

“Don’t you see anything besides the dot?” she asked.

A resounding “No” came from the audience.

“What about the sheet of paper?” the speaker asked. “I am sure you have all seen it”, she said, “But you have chosen to overlook it.”

When we choose not to focus on what's missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present... we experience heaven on earth.

“In life, we also tend to overlook and take for granted many wonderful things that we have or happen around us. We tend to focus our attention and energy on small, dot-like failures and disappointments. The so-called ‘problems’ that we have are usually like the black dot on the paper. They are small and insignificant if we can widen our horizon and look at the whole picture.”

Are you one of the persons who focus your attention and energy on dot-like problems?

Most of the battles of life are won by looking beyond the clouds to the sun. And having patience to wait for the day when the sun comes out and the clouds float away. One thing never changes. It remains the same forever. God truly loves His children and He will forsake them never! (Helen Steiner Rice)

If we want to accomplish something, we can't just sit back staring at the black dot and hope it will happen. We have to do something to make it happen.

If you look at what you have in life, you'll always have more. If you look at what you don't have in life, you'll never have enough.
