If we believe we can and have the strong desire to do so, then despite of setbacks, it is our will power that makes us try, try, try again until we succeed. Both the‘will’ and the‘power’ are released when we go from ‘will do’ to ‘doing things willingly'.

Anyone can give up. It’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together, when everything seems like falling apart; That’s true strength. -unknown

The Fear of failure and the fear of the unknown are always defeated by faith. Having faith in ourselves, in the process of change and in the new direction that change sets, will reveal our own inner core of steel. The minute we settle for less than we deserve, we get even less than what we settled for.

There was a story that would explain why an elephant, in spite of its size, could only be restrained by a tiny rope.

When we yield to discouragement it is usually because we give too much thought to the past and to the future. -St. Therese of Lisieux

As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg, no chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.

He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. “Well,” trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller, we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”

The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?

Failure is part of learning; we should never give up the struggle in life.

Don’t let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest. Don’t judge life by one difficult season. Persevere through the difficult patches; and better times are sure to come., some time or later. ~unknown
