How can we maintain peace of mind in today's fast-paced world without falling behind or getting run over by the crowd? Here are some ideas:

Settng priorities and goals is a key to success. Without meaningful goals, we will never be truly successful in life, no matter how much money we earn or how great a name we make for ourselves. Success starts in the heart. When priorities and motives are right, we are halfway to where we want to be.

Let us not allow little inconveniences sap our inspiration and strength. There will always be deadlines, pressures and work, so let's slow down, take time to rest and relax. We must stop everything periodically and connect with the source (God), to get recharged, or we will run out of power. Better to take regular rest than to risk a breakdown.

After creating the universe, God rested from His labor, and He tells us to do the same. Let's not get caught in the materialism trap. Material things may temporarily satisfy the body, but only God's love can truly satisfy the spirit. The truest wealth is measured in the things that money can’t buy. Some people own things, and some people’s things own them. Material success will only last till the day we die; but love lasts forever.

Let's make people our priority, and the best things in life will come to us. Starting the day with love would carry us through the day. We could reduce stress and friction which are the two arch enemies of happiness by considering the preferences, needs, personalities, and limitations of others.

We could stay positive and cheerful by looking for the good in every situation. Success starts with a right attitude. Let's train our mind to look beyond obstacles, disappointments, setbacks, and even failures.

A smile is the lighting system of the face and the heating system of the heart. Laughter releases us physically and refreshes us mentally and emotionally by putting our problems in perspective.

By giving our cares and problems to God we can see the big picture more clearly. God can give us solutions that could make problems that loom as large as mountains, melt away. Jesus is inviting us to come to Him and He will give us rest. (Matthew 11:28-30).

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. It’s better to stay healthy than to have to be healed. The best way to prevent illness is to obey God's natural laws: Live right, eat right, work right, play right, rest right, love right, and maintain right relationship with others and with Him. God made every good thing for us to enjoy in moderation. What we take in mentally and spiritually is as important to our overall well-being as what we eat.

The highest reward for a man's toil is not what he gets for it, but what he becomes by it.---John Ruskin  Should you encounter a problem along your way, change your direction, but not your destination.
