A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind percepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.

Our mother is our root, our foundation. She planted the seed that we base our life on, and that is the belief that the ability to achieve starts in our mind. To the world, our mother might just be one person, but to many of us, she might just be the world. Here's a story of a young girl and the red rose for her mother.

A man stopped at a flower shop to order some flowers to be wired to his mother who lived two hundred miles away. As he got out of his car he noticed a young girl sitting on the curb sobbing.

He asked her what was wrong and she replied, "I wanted to buy a red rose for my mother. But I only have seventy-five cents, and a rose costs two dollars."

The man smiled and said, "Come on in with me. I'll buy you a rose."

He bought the little girl her rose and ordered his own mother's flowers.  As they were leaving he offered the girl a ride home.

She said, "Yes, please! You can take me to my mother."

She directed him to a cemetery, where she placed the rose on a freshly dug grave.

The man returned to the flower shop, canceled the wire order, picked up a bouquet and drove the two hundred miles to his mother's house.

The role of a mother is probably the most important career a woman can have… but only one mother in the whole world. We only have one mom, one mommy, one mother in this world, one life. Don't wait for tomorrow to tell mom, you love her while she is still around.

A mother is someone who guides and inspires. She helps us attain our dreams and desires. Wisdom and insight are part of her way, and her faith in her children brightens their days.
